Since opening its doors in Parkdale two years ago, the TTL has loaned over 12,000 tools ranging from power drills and ladders to pressure washers and roto-tillers. This new branch will be the TTL’s third branch location to add to existing locations at 1499 Queen Street West and 1803 Danforth Avenue. Generously supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Pioneer +TO and countless tool donors and volunteers, this community project represents a shift in consumption to allow for a more sustainable approach to resource use in the 21st century. Commonly known as the Sharing Economy, members of the Tool Library can reduce their environmental impact by accessing infrequently used tools rather than owning and storing them.
